Researchers See More Biology with ClearLight
See lung, tonsil, and brain tissues passively cleared using the CLARITY method followed by multiplex immunostaining. A multiplex is three biomarkers and a nuclear counterstain.
Mouse Brain: Passively cleared and immunostained normal mouse brain (5 mm dia. x 1 mm thick) that has been stained with DAPI to identify individual cells, Lectin-DyLight 594 to identify vasculature, and Histone H3-Alexa Fluor 647, a chromatin marker.
Lung Carcinoma: DAPI (blue), pan-cadherin (green), CD8 (yellow), α-SMA (red)

Our Genesis
ClearLight has worked with the CLARITY method since its founding in 2015 by Karl Deisseroth MD, PhD, professor of bioengineering and psychiatry at Stanford University. Dr. Deisseroth and colleagues invented and developed CLARITY lipid-clearing techniques originally to be applied to brain tissue.
Beyond the Brain
ClearLight has built upon the original CLARITY protocol, optimizing the reagents, developing expertise in thick tissue immunostaining penetration, and expanding beyond the brain to include organoids, eye, lymph nodes, skin, bone, kidney, liver, tonsil and other human and animal tissues.
